As an ending to our collaboration with the India Foundation for the Arts and as a beginning to the future of The Mobile Girls Koottam, we are launching the annual The Mobile Girls Koottam Residency + Festival.

The first edition will happen at Adishakti Theatre Arts, Puducherry, from 29 August to 01 September 2024.

At the core of this event, we will host working women from different professions like autodrivers, service industry, farming, fisheries to workshop and activate their individual artistic interventions. This could be in the form of theatre, visual arts, literature, social media channels, dance, film, podcasting or anything else that they dream of.

The festival will host our play, a performance by Sollisai Sistahs, interactions with groups like Jana Natya Manch, KadalOsai Community Radio and Maraa Arts Collective.

We currently have a corpus of 2,00,000 to conduct this festival and would like to raise an additional 4,00,000 to take care of our residency participants, facilitators and audience.

If we have earned your faith over time and you can afford to spare funds towards this initiative, we would be extremely grateful.

All contributors will be credited during the festival and on the website as producers of the festival.

All contributors who cross the Rs. 5000 mark will get a copy of the text publication created after the festival and a t-shirt printed with original illustrations from The Mobile Girls Koottam book by Madhusree.

All contributors who cross the Rs. 10,000 mark can write to us if they would like us to do a shoutout for their business or organisation. You can also email us and let us know if you would like to place standees during the event.
